Thank you, Mr. Vice-President.
Japan warmly welcomes the delegation of Rwanda to this session.
Japan commends Rwanda’s continued endeavor to advance human rights since the previous review cycle. We acknowledge the efforts and progress made, particularly in relation to legislative reforms to strengthen human rights protection.
In a spirit of constructive dialogue, Japan recommends that Rwanda:
We wish the delegation of Rwanda every success in the review.

- continue its efforts to ensure the exercise of the right to freedom of opinion and expression, including of the media;
- intensify its efforts to ensure inclusive, equitable, and quality education, especially by strengthening the technical capacity of teachers, closing the gender gap, and expanding access to education for children from rural and marginalized communities; and
- further protect and promote the rights of children, in accordance with the human rights instruments that Rwanda has ratified.
We wish the delegation of Rwanda every success in the review.
