Statement by Ms. ASANO Yuko, First Secretary
The Permanent Mission of Japan in Geneva
4 November 2025
Thank you, Mr. Vice-President.
Japan warmly welcomes the delegation of Mongolia to this session.
Japan appreciates Mongolia’s efforts to promote responsible business practices through the adoption of its National Action Plan on Business and Human Rights in 2023.
In a spirit of constructive dialogue, Japan would like to make three recommendations:
1. continue efforts to guarantee due process in law enforcement, and ensure the impartiality and transparency of the judiciary;
2. take further measures to promote gender equality in society, including measures to address gender-based violence in the digital space; and
3. take further measures to promote and protect the rights of persons with disabilities, including the establishment of systems aimed at their full social inclusion and protection from violence.
We wish the delegation of Mongolia every success in this review.
I thank you.
