第47回普遍的・定期的レビュー(UPR)作業部会対ノルウェー王国審査 清水庸平書記官ステートメント(2024年11月4日)

令和6年11月4日
UPR of the Kingdom of Norway
Statement by Mr. SHIMIZU Yohei, First Secretary
The Permanent Mission of Japan in Geneva
4 November 2024

   Thank you, Mr. President.

Japan appreciates the positive steps taken by the Kingdom of Norway since the previous review cycle to further improve its human rights situation, including the ratification of the International Convention for the Protection of All Persons from enforced Disappearance.

Japan also commends Norway on its high degree of gender equality and on its commitment to achieving even greater gender equality. We also commend Norway’s initiative to incorporate the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities into its Human Rights Act.

To achieve further progress, Japan recommends that Norway:
  1) continue to expand the competence-boosting measures related to hate crime being implemented for law enforcement officials; and
  2) redouble its efforts to further reduce income inequality and eradicate poverty, particularly child poverty.

We wish the delegation of the Kingdom of Norway every success in the review.

 I thank you.
