Thank you, Mr. President.
Spain’s proactive efforts to combat gender-based violence are commendable, particularly in combination with recent legal reforms that strengthen penalties for offences and enhance victim protections. We also acknowledge that the Act on the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents against violence has extended safeguards to children of gender-based violence victims.
In light of these commendable efforts, we offer the following recommendations to Spain:

We also acknowledge that the Act on the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents against violence has extended safeguards to children of gender-based violence victims.
In light of these commendable efforts, we offer the following recommendations to Spain:
- continue to intensify efforts to eliminate gender-based violence and discrimination by rigorously enforcing relevant laws and enhancing expert capacity; and
- strengthen efforts to safeguard children’s rights, focusing on those in vulnerable situations.
