Briefing for Students Participating in the Model WTO 2026

  On April 13, the Permanent Mission of Japan in Geneva welcomed a group of students representing Japan in the Model WTO 2026. This event has been held annually by the University of St. Gallen since 1997, with approximately 70 students from over 40 universities worldwide participating in mock negotiations at the WTO and other venues. This year, teams representing 12 countries, including Japan, were formed and conducted mock negotiations. We exchanged views with a total of six participating students who visited our Mission regarding Japan's position in various areas of WTO reform and the results of the mock negotiations.
