 On 25 February, Ambassador OIKE Atsuyuki held a commemorative ceremony and exchanged views with Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), regarding Japan’s financial contribution to UNCTAD’s technical assistance in Africa.
The Government of Japan has contributed USD 279,999 in total to the following UNCTAD technical assistance projects:
  1. Enhancing value addition and diversification of critical energy transition minerals (CETMs) value chains in the Democratic Republic of Congo;
  2. Strengthening consumer product safety in Rwanda;
  3. Strengthening transport and logistics for supply chain resilience and food security in Kenya.
 Japan will continue to strengthen its collaboration with UNCTAD to steadily provide technical assistance to meaningful projects that benefit local people and strengthen developing countries’ resilience in the face of global risks in trade.
