Japan’s Assistance for a Technical Cooperation Project in Collaboration with UNCTAD (16 May 2025)

   On 16 May, Ambassador OIKE Atsuyuki held a commemorative ceremony and exchanged views with Ms. Rebeca Grynspan, Secretary-General of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), regarding Japan’s financial contribution to UNCTAD’s technical assistance aimed at enhancing value addition and diversification of critical energy transition minerals (CETMs) value chains in Southern Africa (Zambia, Namibia, and Madagascar).

   The Government of Japan has contributed USD 680,000 to the aforementioned UNCTAD technical assistance. Japan will continue to strengthen its collaboration with UNCTAD in promoting the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and advancing a resilient green transition.
