Japanese Car Exhibition Reception (18 March 2025)

On 18 March, Ambassador Oike hosted a reception at his residence mainly to promote Japanese car companies. 200 guests including diplomats and officials of international organizations participated in the event, where 16 cars were displayed and 12 of which were available for a test drive including hybrid vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles, electric vehicles and fuel cell vehicles that use hydrogen for fuel. The event was a great success, allowing guests to learn more about these types of vehicles from Japan.
During the reception, to mark the inscription of the “Traditional knowledge and skills of sake-making with koji mold in Japan” on the UNESCO Representative List of World Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity last year, six varieties of Japanese sake (rice wine) were sampled, and guests enjoyed the different flavor profiles of the sakes after driving.
