Conclusion of Bilateral Negotiations between Japan and the Democratic Azerbaijan on the Accession of Azerbaijan to the WTO (15 March 2024)

   On 15 March, at the Mission of Japan in Geneva, H.E. Ambassador OIKE Atsuyuki, on behalf of the Government of Japan and H.E. Ambassador Mr. Galib ISRAFILOV, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan signed the documents indicating the conclusion of the bilateral negotiations on the accession of Azerbaijan to the WTO.
 
   The accession process of Azerbaijan to the WTO began in 1997. Since then, negotiations on both multilateral and bilateral fronts have been carried out. The conclusion of bilateral negotiations with Japan would strengthen the momentum of the process for Azerbaijan’s early accession to the WTO.
