WTO 15th Trade Policy Review of Japan (1 and 3 March 2023)

On March 1 and 3, the 15th Trade Policy Review of Japan took place at the WTO to examine Japan's trade policies and practices.
Ambassador YAMAZAKI Kazuyuki, Permanent Representative of Japan to the International Organizations in Geneva, and Mr. OKOCHI Akihiro, Ambassador in charge of Economic diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (HoD), attended the meeting.
Background
Trade Policy Reviews are an exercise, mandated in the WTO agreements, in which Members’ trade and related policies are examined and evaluated at regular intervals. The TPR of Japan is held every three years (the last review of Japan was held in July 2020).
