Participation of Ambassador Yamazaki in Sophia University’s Training Program on Geneva’s International Organizations (5 September 2022)

On 5 September, Ambassador Yamazaki participated via videoconference in a training program for students of Tokyo’s Sophia University on the international organizations in Geneva.
The training program has been running since 2018 under the leadership of Sophia University’s Professor UEKI Yasuhiro. As part of the program, students of the university have had the opportunity to visit Geneva and attend talks and tours at both the Mission and international organizations in the city.
Since last year, the program has been conducted online, and this year Ambassador Yamazaki gave a talk for a group of 24 students from both undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The Ambassador spoke about the position and role of the Mission, the way in which international meetings and conferences have adapted in response to the COVID-19 crisis, and the practice of multilateral diplomacy.
