World Tsunami Awareness Day Event(Friday 27 October at the United Nations Office at Geneva): featuring a 3D documentary film on the damages caused by the tsunami that resulted from the Great East Japan Earthquake and panel discussion
A special event, co-hosted by Japan and the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), will be held on Friday 27 October at the United Nations Office at Geneva in advance of World Tsunami Awareness Day on 5 November. The event will feature a screening of a 3D documentary film produced by NHK, titled “The Great Tsunami in Japan—Reflecting on the 2011 disaster.” The screening will be followed by a panel discussion on the lessons learned from the experience of the tsunamis in the past. We look forward to welcoming you on the day.
Time and date: 12:30 – 15:30, Friday 27 October (A light sushi lunch will be provided from 12:30)

Program:
• 12:30 – 13:30: Light lunch (sushi)
• 13:30 – 13:45: Welcome message from Dr. Robert Glasser, Special Representative of the Secretary-General (SRSG) for Disaster Risk Reduction
• 13:45 – 14:15: Screening of 3D documentary film produced by NHK, “The Great Tsunami in Japan Reflecting on the 2011 disaster”
• 14:15 – 15:30: Panel discussion
