Ambassador Yamazaki Attends a Webinar Held by the Washington International Trade Association (WITA) (11 December 2020)

Ambassador YAMAZAKI Kazuyuki took part in a webinar held by the Washington International Trade Association, or WITA, on 11 December. Ambassadors representing Ottawa Group members, Australia, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and Switzerland, participated in the webinar and discussed ongoing key issues for the Ottawa Group and possible collaboration with the new U.S. administration.
 
Ambassador Yamazaki mainly talked about the Joint Statement Initiative (JSI) negotiation on e-commerce, problems of industry subsidies and state-owned enterprises, and export restrictions on medical goods and food amid the COVID-19 crisis. Other issues discussed in the webinar include the election of the WTO Director General and the problem surrounding the Appellate Body.
