Reception on the Occasion of the Emperor of Japan’s Birthday (30 November 2017)

　A reception in celebration of the Emperor’s birthday was held at the Mission of Japan on 30 November. The reception was jointly hosted by Ambassador Ihara, Permanent Representative to the International Organizations in Geneva, Ambassador Takamizawa, Permanent Representative to the Conference on Disarmament, and Ambassador Shino, Deputy Permanent Representative to the International Organizations and Chief of the Consulate in Geneva. Approximately 500 guests attended the event, including Ambassadors from other Permanent Missions and heads of international organizations in Geneva. The many guests enjoyed a variety of food and drink throughout the evening, including onigiri (rice balls) made with the first rice of the year and sake (rice wine) from Japan.
