Reception on the Occasion of the Emperor’s of Japan Birthday (14 December 2016)

　On 14 December, Ambassador Ihara, together with Ambassador Sano and Ambassador Shino, held a reception to celebrate the Emperor’s birthday at the Mission of Japan.

　Ambassadors from the Permanent Missions in Geneva as well as many other guests participated in the event.
　
　During the reception, sake from the Fukushima region and onigiri (rice balls) made using the first rice of the year from Japan were offered to guests. The reception venue also featured a photo exhibition titled “Japan and the United Nations’ Journey Together” to celebrate the 60^th anniversary of Japan’s accession to the United Nations.
